Joanie brings her background as an engineer and her experience as a consulting psychologist to her work providing assessment and coaching for technical leaders. She understands the technical demands and the leadership requirements of scientific and technology teams that are essential to helping technical leaders thrive. Her experience with industry leaders, insights in the technical sector, and unique understanding of each client helps to produce significant personal and professional growth. Joanie’s easy-going demeanor, communication style, and focus on the whole person adds tremendous value to the organizations and people she works with.

Background and Experience

Dr. Joanie B. Connell is an organizational consultant, author, speaker, and leadership coach who is passionate about helping people maximize their leadership and personal potential. A former engineer, Joanie works especially well with technical leaders to develop people strategies to better manage their teams and build stronger relationships across functions and organizations.

Joanie has a wealth of consulting experience. She has consulted to Fortune 100 companies, small and medium sized businesses, non-profits, and the public sector. She has taught business and psychology students at the Rady School of Management in San Diego and the California School of Professional Psychology at Alliant International University. She developed and ran the Center for Executive Assessment (executive assessment center) at the Rady School of Management for 10 years.
